Sweet Firefly in Richardson

There's a reason there's usually a line out the door. Several dozen reasons, actually, but Beltline Berry is the best reason! Friendly staff, delicious ice cream, actual locally owned business. Completely worth waiting outside in the heat to get a scoop or three!

I love sweets and Sweet Firefly always hits the spot!! Their homemade ice cream flavors are awesome. I've never had a bad flavor. I love the special candy that they have scattered around the place. I go here each time in in Richardson and I have a few minutes to enjoy life.

The oreo flavor was good and creamy and the workers are really kind. However I couldn't help but think about another ice cream place further south called Tongue in Cheek that has more interesting flavors. If you can't make it there, this place is a great one to go to.

Sweet Firefly is a place that my friends and I frequent. Their service is always great and their variety of ice cream flavors is plentiful. Their flavors rotate, so it's great that you can get two flavors with even the smallest size cup. As an added bonus, UTD students get a discount with their ID. This place can get rather busy, but they get through the lines pretty quickly. The store is always clean and there is room to sit outside as well. Sweet Firefly is a must visit for all ice cream lovers and a great place for friends who want a cozy place to socialize.

This is my third visit to Sweet Firefly, and every single visit has been spectacular. We love that their flavors rotate, so there are always fresh new options. The restaurant is always clean and they are always so friendly! Pictured are the chocolate and birthday cake ice creams. This place is incredible!

Their ice cream is some of the best in Richardson. I would order their ice cream over their shaved ice. Staff is very friendly and look like they are having fun. I recommend eating your ice cream slightly away from the store as it is very popular with big families. The small food plaza had a few benches around their fountain almost as it was made for the ice cream shop.

I like this icecream because it's super creamy and you get big chunks of the main Ingredients in it, like Oreo.. you get big chunks of Oreo in each scoop. Also depends on who's working whether you get generous scoops or not. The young teens never let me down on scoop proportions!

Visiting the area for the week and was looking for a good ice cream spot. So many to choose from and decided on Sweet Firefly because while my husband and kids can have ice cream I can't have dairy. I usually have a hard time finding a good spot with some vegan choices. Unfortunately their vegan choices for the day weren't any that I liked but I did have their mango sorbet. Wow! It was so good!!! We are from the Austin area with lots of gourmet spots. Sweet firefly reminds me of our sweet eats back home. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The young man working there today was so patient with my 9 year old who just couldn't decide what he wanted. We will definitely be back to this sweet spot on our next trip up here. The staff was really great as well as the ice cream flavors. It's a moderate selection, but the specialty flavors they did have were really unique and great.

This is the best ice cream you can get for the money, hands-down. The decor is lovely, the staff is great. It's a hometown favorite for a reason. They are known for their sea-salt caramel, but you should taste any flavors that interest you and consider getting multiples. My favorite is the Beltline Berry - it's a black raspberry ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate. If they have it, you should try it for sure. Also, their coffee toffee crunch is fantastic. They also have a selection of candy available for sale if you need a topping. Just check it out - you won't regret it.

The girls were so sweet. There were 8 of us, and they were so patient and kind as we asked for samples and asked about different flavors. I had trouble deciding what flavor to get because they were all SO GOOD!! Ended up with the lemon vanilla, which is awesome. The service was even better than the ice cream, though.**edited to add, you can get 2 flavors in "1 scoop" which is only like $3 .... for real artisan, home made ice cream!? So, sooo worth it

I love their ice cream but I am really here to review them on their rental service. We rented their space for my baby shower and the staff was exceptionally courteous and sweet. They cleaned the space for our event in no time and also took photos for us upon our request. The space was just right for a small group of people. Well done on amazing staff, professionalism and real southern hospitality!!!!

Lovely flavors of ice cream and great hospitality. Our go-to dessert destination. It's Frankie's for dinner and here for dessert after! Highly recommended. Way better than the big chains. Incredible and consistent.

Staff is very friendly. Dining aka ice cream eating area is clean. There are approximately 12 to 15 flavors to choose from. The ice cream is of good quality but in my opinion there was not anything special or unique about the ice cream. This is definitely a cozy place where the locals come for desserts.

Best. Ice cream. Ever. Seriously! Very creative, seasonal flavors. Sea salt caramel is the bomb! My son loves the Raspberry sorbet. Something for everyone even if you don’t like ice cream. The staff is super helpful + first rate! Take your family, your friends, your neighbors. The holiday pies are incredible too!

I don’t understand why this is the best ice cream place in town. Nothing too special. Affordable with average ice cream. And with foam cup we ate so much micro plastic in.

This was our first time going. Its a cute little ice cream shop! Both the owners where behind the counter serving customers right along with the employee! Who was also great and kind. There was not one customer that was NOT greeted like they were not family! Pattie, one of the owners even recognized we had not been in before and answered all of my questions! My daughter even dropped her icecream and pattie was an angel about it and replaced it so fast ! We will be back soon ready for more icecream and fun!

Great ice cream! The Bourbon Vanilla was delicious. I prefer that over the Cinnamon ice cream I had.

Online ordering only and had to wait 22 minutes for a scoop of ice cream. I wish they would put that on there website so we would not have made the drive.

Hands down my favorite ice cream place in town. I've been going to this place for years, getting their sea salt caramel or their weird secret flavor(found on their facebook, but it goes on and off) and it's a great place to go to with friends, a date, or to fulfill that craving. The owner and employees are super friendly, great people, and the store is tucked away in a little shopping outlet, away from traffic. Regardless of the season, I always try and make a trip here when I can. Do watch out for their hours though; they tend to close a bit early, to give their employees time to rest.

Beautifully decorated place! Super clean for an ice cream shop! Super nice and spacious. They have a kid area where you can play board games, they have cute kid sized tables and chairs. And they also have a chalk board for kids so they can draw and be creative... Such a cool and family friendly environment! In the back they rent out space for parties or anything private for children. They make their own ice cream and are always on spot with the taste. I like the way they rotate their flavors and are creative when making their ice cream! Very friendly staff, really care, and owner Angie Conrad is a vibrant, upbeat and hardworking person. She Has really achieved her goal to make this place a success! It's amazing my clean for an ice cream place and I can't find anything wrong with it or improvement... Keep it up!!!

Just left, Great place! They have unique flavors and the girl at the counter was extremely nice and helpful!! Definitely would recommend. They have some non-dairy options too, and you get free refills on coffee. 10/10EDIT:My mom forgot her phone and Ellie was so nice about it. Thank you!!!!

I was invited here by my friend and her family, which is now my family. Each time I’ve went, I’ve met great people, including one of the owners. Her testimony was breath taking. My heart felt full yet grateful, bitter yet sweet to have realized that their are GREAT people in the world. The owners treat you like family...greetings with a smile of warmth, friendliness to brighten your day. My last visit which was my “birthday ice cream outing”, it was then I realized that I have been adopted by the GREATEST family in the world!!! This confirmation while at Sweet Firefly. This isn’t just an ice cream shop...it’s where family(ies) share funny stories, heart felt moments, and build beautiful memories. DFW doesn't have many places like Sweet Firefly. This is a real ice cream shop in every sense of the phrase, with delicious ice cream, good variety, and ambience. The owners and staff are just great people as well. So warm and accommodating. I've never met a person who doesn't light up when we mention the name Sweet Firefly. They have become such an essential part of the Richardson community!

Adorable local sweets place that has a vintage vibe and is next to a park where there are usually kids running around. Very lively, sweet, polite and respectful service.

No cash? Are you kidding me? What is this orwelian bs? I will not shop or support ANY business pushing a cashless society where our government controls everything we do and buy. Do you want to live in the world where your ability to buy groceries can be turned off by a corporation/government? That is exactly what a cashless society will be. China is already dojng this right now with their social credit score. This is not a joke.Plus: your pos terminal and the cards we tough are JUST as dirty as cash. This behavior has no merit. Honey lavender ice cream was divine. So many good flavours to choose from, I had a hard time picking, but so happy with my choice. The award is right - BEST ice cream.

I enjoy Firefly. Some of the best homemade icecream you can get locally. A bit on the pricey side. 2 scoops will run approx 5 dollars and if the scooper isn't heavy handed, the scoops end up on the small side like they were today. Currently during COVID, all orders are being done online with pickup. I did see an order couple there today as a walkup and they were kind enough to take their order at the door. They do have select ice creams available so I would check ahead of time before ordering.

Came to Richardson for dinner and decided to search around for dessert. Found this gem of a place! The ice cream is absolutely delicious. Unique and traditional flavors can be found. It's cream perfection and my husband and I really enjoyed it. The owner rang us up and made a point to try and remember us. I think it's her goal to know all her customers. Prices are well worth the quality. We split a "granddaddy" for $5.50. Blueberry cobbler, banana nut, and salted caramel. All three were delicious and we couldn't pick a favorite.
